科学家总结HIF在免疫和炎症中的作用

研究人员表示,HIF是一种转录因子,在细胞对低氧的反应中起着至关重要的作用,它协调着新陈代谢的转换,使细胞能够在这种环境下生存。在免疫方面,受感染和发炎的组织通常会缺氧,HIF可帮助免疫细胞适应。HIF-α稳定还可以在免疫和炎症过程中的常氧下发生,它调节新陈代谢,但还可以直接调节免疫基因的表达。

Title: The Role of HIF in Immunity and Inflammation

Abstract: HIF is a transcription factor that plays an essential role in the cellular responseto low oxygen, orchestrating a metabolic switch that allows cells to survive in thisenvironment. In immunity, infected and inflamed tissues are often hypoxic, and HIFhelps immune cells adapt. HIF-α stabilization can also occur under normoxia duringimmunity and inflammation, where it regulates metabolism but in addition can directlyregulate expression of immune genes. Here we review the role of HIF in immunity, includingits role in macrophages, dendritic cells, neutrophils, T cells, and B cells. Its rolein immunity is as essential for cellular responses as it is in its original role inhypoxia, with HIF being implicated in multiple inflammatory diseases and in immunosuppressionin tumors.
